Headphone 3D Spatial Audio & Left/Right Sound Tester
Put on your headphones. Test left and right channel separation, verify 360° spatial audio tracking, detect inverted wiring polarity, and benchmark stereo frequency limits online.

Diagnosing Audio Faults
- Inverted Channels: If clicking "Left Ear Only" plays in your right ear, your headphone cable or Windows audio balance is reversed.
- Hollow / Missing Bass: If out-of-phase audio sounds identical or louder than in-phase audio, one of your headphone speaker drivers has reversed polarity.
- 3D Spatial Tracking: High-end gaming headsets with virtual 7.1 or Dolby Atmos will produce an unmistakable smooth circle around your skull.

Headphone Channel Separation & Spatial Acoustics
Stereo audio relies on two discrete audio channels: Left and Right. When mixing music or rendering 3D spatial footsteps in video games, audio engineers utilize Interaural Time Difference (ITD) and Interaural Level Difference (ILD). If a sound originates from your left, it reaches your left eardrum approximately 0.6 milliseconds before your right eardrum, with slightly higher high-frequency energy.
If your headphone drivers are wired with inverted polarity (one positive wire swapped with ground), the sound waves from both ears collide out-of-phase in your cranium, physically canceling lower frequencies and destroying your ability to pinpoint enemy locations in games.
